Calling with Full Circle, Sharpes Assembly, Florida 2010


Sharpes Assembly is an annual dance weekend in Florida with a guest dance teacher/caller. In 2010 it was me!
Band: Full Circle (Veronica Lane: flute, whistles, and EWI, an electronic wind instrument, essentially a large recorder / synthesizer combination; Ted Lane: guitar)

Chorus: 2 chasées going forward diagonally left, 2 chasées going diagonally forward right [1-2]

Pantomime Cow: move forward 4 steps, LRLR, like a pantomime cow or horse [3-4]

Chorus: 2 chasées going forward diagonally left, 2 chasées going diagonally forward right [5-6]

Find Out What You’ve Got: Men turn the ladies around to face them and put them back (optional stick out tongue, make awful noises) [7-8]

Chorus: 2 chasées going forward diagonally left, 2 chasées going diagonally forward right [9-10]

Ladies Behind:Ladies Behind: Ladies (without letting go hands) cast clockwise to stand behind partner [11-12]

Chorus: 2 chasées going forward diagonally left, 2 chasées going diagonally forward right [13-14]

Men Behind The Ladies Behind: Men cast off clockwise, ladies moving forward a little, men ending behind the lady who was originally behind them (new partner, engage ‘grapple’ hold) [15-16]

A1 - 1st corners change (by casting left around their neighbor, passing each other left in the center and casting right around their partner into each other’s place)

A22nd corners change (by casting right around their partner, passing each other right in the center and casting left around their partner neighbor each other’s place)
B1 - fall back 3 steps [1-2], come forward and pass through across (end facing neighbor) [3-4], neighbor back-to-back [5-8], partner back-to-back [9-12]

B2 - rights & lefts (4 changes, start partner right, with hands) [1-8], partner two-hand turn [9-12]
