Llandudno June 2002

After our visit to South Wales in March, in June we headed to North Wales to the seaside resort of Llandudno. The town sits behind a wide sweep of sand, shingle and rock extending two miles in a graceful curve between the headlands of the Great Orme and the Little Orme. Most of the big hotels are along the seafront but we stayed at the 'exotic' Empire Hotel and Spa which boasts an excellent restaurant with a great harpist playing at Sunday lunch. For most of the length of Llandudno's North Shore there is a wide curving Victorian promenade separated from the roadway by a strip of garden.
